About the Artist

Please visit our associate at
Where Black History happens everyday.

As everyone knows, although Black History Week was established by Carter G. Woodson, director of the then Association for the Study of Negro Life and History, in 1926 and since by the, now, Association for the Study of Afro-American Life and History as Black History Month in 1976, history, regardless of ethnicity, happens everyday and every minute and every second.

Now, there are many WEB sites to where one can obtain information as to what has happened on any given day, but I have found the best of them to contain a great deal of this and great of that. Some would have one thing but, according to another, there would also be something else. Some would have minimal information, while where quite detailed in citing there notations. Kudos to those, such as The Munirah Chronicle edited by Brother Mosi Hoj, Black Facts Online, The African American Registry®, Jet Magazine: This Week in Black History, et al., because these are the best and most comprehensive. This site, however, is a compilation of those and many others. (See my bibliography to this site.) If you would like to know what happened in Black History on any given day, click onto the day of your choice on the calendar below and, as this part of Another Shade of Color develops this section, look for special essays on the vast array of individuals and incidents that have contributed to America and the world and made them what they are.
